As students head back to school, starting college often means moving out of home, adjusting to new schedules, and learning how to handle everyday responsibilities on their own. Along with the excitement of classes and new friendships, it’s important to think about real-life risks—like campus emergencies, accidents while driving or commuting, and protecting loved ones if something unexpected happens. Having the most adequate fire, auto, and life insurance coverage can help students stay financially secure, whether it’s safeguarding belongings in case of fire, ensuring reliable protection for a vehicle or rides on the road, or providing knowledge that family members are supported in the event of a tragedy. With the right coverage in place, students can focus more confidently on the start of their new chapter.

At the Tom Segrave State Farm office in Cheyenne, WY, I’ve spent decades helping individuals, families, and business owners turn uncertainty into confidence by making sure they have the right coverage in place.

I’m Tom Segrave, and I’ve had the privilege of working with State Farm for 47 years. Over the course of my career, I’ve earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU®) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) designations, credentials that reflect a lifelong commitment to learning and serving customers well.

I’m licensed to assist customers in Wyoming, Colorado, South Dakota, and Nebraska, allowing me to support policy holders across the region with consistent guidance. I’m a graduate of the University of Nebraska–Kearney, where I built the foundation for my career in insurance and community leadership. Giving back has always been important to me. For more than 30 years, I’ve been an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Cheyenne, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and strengthening our community.

I’ve also served on the Cheyenne City Council, previously held the role of Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, and remain a proud member of Cheyenne LEADS, supporting economic development throughout the region. Family is at the center of everything I do. I’m grateful to share my life with my wife, Ann, and together we’ve raised three children who all graduated from the University of Wyoming. When we’re not working or serving the community, we enjoy spending time on the golf course and traveling together, exploring new places and creating lasting memories.

Our office helps customers protect what matters most with Auto Insurance, Homeowners Insurance, Renters Insurance, Life Insurance, and Business Insurance, along with coverage for recreational vehicles, boats, and more. With decades of experience and a strong local focus, my commitment is to guide you thoughtfully and clearly through your insurance decisions. I invite you to reach out and start a conversation about coverage built to support your life today and into the future.

A: Car insurance coverage can often start the same day, depending on your situation. Tom is proud to serve the Cheyenne community.

Q: What are the insurance requirements on a leased car?

A: If you're leasing a vehicle, the requirements are usually a bit higher than standard coverage. Q: What's typically covered by a homeowners insurance policy?

A: Homeowners insurance can help protect your home, your personal belongings, and your finances. It typically includes coverage for the structure of your home, your belongings, liability protection, and additional living expenses if your home becomes uninhabitable due to a covered loss. Have questions? Tom in Cheyenne can walk you through your options.

Q: What's included in renters insurance coverage?

A: Renters insurance helps protect the things you own if something unexpected happens. It can help cover personal belongings if they're damaged or stolen, provide personal liability protection if someone is injured, and help with additional living expenses if you're unable to stay in your home due to a covered loss. Tom works with Cheyenne residents to find coverage that fits.
